Wall Street Journal: Stephen Roach is the chairman of Morgan Stanley in Asia. He has been publicly known as a China Bull. Having spent most of his career in Asia, Mr. Roach has a particular attachment to China and has a high expectation on the country understandably. In his Book ‘The Next Asia’ Mr. Roach pictures China as the world’s next leader to challenge the US. At the same time, however, some readers disagree with Mr. Roach’s view on China. The one on WSJ is an example. According to the author, China has not shown the responsibility toward holding the fort when the world is falling apart as a supposed leader. The question is, who else is a ‘responsible’ leader in the author’s eye? America?
