Forbes: A Chinese private company in Sichuan purchased the Intellectual Property and brand of Hummer, from GM for $150M, which is less than half of the valuation when GM went bankrupt. However, the real owner behind Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co is confusing to the market. According to the public information available, Suolang Duoji, the chaiman of Lumena Resource will hold 20% of Hummer to be bought over, and Lumena is a minging company heavily focused on energy but registered in Cayman Island. The readers might be confused already. The message here is: Hummer is a game of rich people, and could be just a toy. There are huge wealth hidden in China’s private sector. Mining is the right sector to be if one wants to be rich. Rich people set up complicated company structure to evade tax and confuse the law maker. How the rich people get their wealth from is never clear.
