China Tells

China Investment Corp continues its agressive paces in the hunting for commodity (particularly energy and mining) related companies. In the last two weeks CIC completed two seperate deals with Mongolia mining companies for coals (See Article from WSJ). Such a move is just a latest step among a continuous effort to acquire significant stakes in Commodity sector. Since the beginning of the year CIC has invested at least 5 Billion USD in different commodity sector companies. This marks a big change from CIC’s earlier investment strategy to focus on financial sectors (Banks and PEs).

中投在大宗商品领域屡出重手大举收购或者参股各类企业。最近在蒙古中投分别投资5亿和7亿美元于两个开挖煤矿的公司。这与中投最近一系列的投资举动是吻合的。中投从年初以来就从金融领域转向了大宗商品领域进行投资。
