shanghai stock marketChina government has approved more qualified institutional investors to invest in Chinese stock and property market for next year (See Article from China Daily). According to the latest estimate, China government will grant at least a quota of $5 Billion for 2010, which is a big jump from this year’s quota ($3.3 Bil). The latest investors that obtained approval are BNY Mellon and Manulife. So far QFII is the only legitimate channel for foreign investors to take a pie in the fast growing financial market of China. Based on the outstanding performance of Shanghai Index in 2009, it is estimated that the enthusiasm of foreign investors to throw money into China will only grow in the next year.
