China Tells

The Spot Iron Ore Price landed in China continues to be firmly supported in Q4 2009. During most of the time China’s imported iron ore price on the spot market is higher than the pre-negotiated long term contract price. Such a disparity reaches its peak during 07/08 before the financial crisis. The spot price did puke in Q4 08 and Q1 09 when the global economy looks vulnerable from every angle. Now it seems that after a few greenshots the price is back to a stable status. The iron ore price is largely consistent with the international freight index, with two linked by capesize vessels.

中国进口铁矿石价格在09年第四季度探底企稳。一般来说，市场上的铁矿石价格总要比事先签订的长期合约价格贵，这种情况在08年金融危机爆发以前达到顶峰。09年年初铁矿石价格曾经有一度急速下跌，后来在政府刺激政策支持下探底回升。目前看来铁矿石价格很有可能在当前这个范围低位震荡。
