The consumption portion in GDP of China is the lowest across most countries on a horizontal comparison basis. According to the latest stats from Asia Development Bank, China’s consumption portion only accounts for about 35% of GDP. In comparison, some other countries in Asia, such as Pakistan and Philippines, have the consumption ratio as high as 80% of GDP. How to improve the structure of China’s economy is one of the big challenges of the government.
